West Salem Machinery continuously provides innovative ways to densify wood shavings. We have been able to increase bulk density by 50% and more for our customers (depends on type shavings and size of milled fiber).

WSM is pleased to offer two product lines for shavings densification and fiber sizing:

WSM 4400 SERIES HAMMERMILLS

The WSM 4400 Series Hammermill is designed to provide superior performance in tough milling applications for “fine” grinding wood fiber. Featuring an industry leading “wide mouth” feed opening and Bi-directional feed, it uses a 44’’ diameter rotor assembly with up to 60’’ width available. Our 4400 Series Hammermills come standard with replaceable liners, screens, refiner plates and easy glide doors for machine maintenance.

WSM 48 SERIES SHREDDERS

The WSM 48 Series Shredder can be a great option for high volume fiber processing and shaving densification. West Salem Machinery’s shredder design is a first of its kind in the industry, as it combines the capabilities of a hammermill with easier maintenance. This line of WSM shredders features a 48’’ dia. rotor assembly with bolted replaceable tips and up to 88’’ wide rotor options available. The WSM 48 Series Shredder comes standard with modular screen sections (mix and match), wear resistance liners, and dual hydraulic doors for maintenance access.
