SAF/Biofuel Processing
WHAT IS SAF?
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is produced from waste and residue streams like cooking oil, agriculture fibers, wood byproducts and is a key alternative to traditional jet fuel. SAF can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from aviation, a sector responsible for 3-5% of global emissions. The European Union aims for SAF to make up 34% of all aircraft fuel by 2040.
WSM Role in SAF/Biofuel Processing:
SAF’s production relies on innovative technologies offered by West Salem Machinery, which efficiently processes wood and agricultural waste. We have some of the most diverse waste processing machines on the market, essential for producing high-quality feedstock for SAF. Our innovative equipment efficiently processes feedstocks for the SAF process.
WSM’S AUTOMATED BALE PROCESSING SYSTEM DELIVERS PROCESS READY FEEDSTOCK
WSM’s Bale Processing System is automated, high-volume processing of baled ag-residuals, energy crops, and biomass products. WSM's system delivers the bale handling and fiber processing capacities that are needed for the SAF process. A single line can process 40-60 bales per hour.
